So I'm delighted to finally reveal something I've been working on this week: the Swansea Legacy Society asked me to illustrate a small piece on the topic of the city's gang culture of the 1950s. Though seldom talked about in modern times, the ensuing moral panic touched every part of Swansea life for years, if not decades, to come.
It's a bit of a change of pace for me; normally, I'm left to my own devices and produce work dedicated largely to the grotesque or absurd. My thanks go to the Swansea Legacy Society for this unique challenge, and I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed producing it. It's short - four pages - and is read best on a mobile device that allows easy zooming (print editions soon to be available from Swansea's museum network).
